Eric Carr Solo

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Eric Carr born Paul Charles Caravello was the drummer for Kiss from 1980 until his death in 1991.

I really loved to see Eric play, he was my favorite drummer growing up and really had a big impact on how I played at the time.

Eric Carr may have been the first or at least the first drummer that I know of to use digital sounds triggered in a solo. He had guitar cords sampled and triggered by what looks like a Simmons pad on the Asylum tour.

Les Claypool Rocks Out On His Bass

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

Les Claypool is probably most famous for his work in Primus and his mid-life crisis band Frog Brigade.

Quick Note: In 1986 Les Claypool auditioned with Metallica for the position of bassist. In Metallicas behind the music James Hetfield is noted ad saying that Claypool did not win the spot because he was too good.

Angus Young Rocks Out

Monday, August 27th, 2007

AC DC straight up rocks. I saw them play during the fly on the wall tour at the old Kiel center in St. Louis. It was crazy I was a kid sitting in a balcony full of bikers that were partying hard. I was a little freaked out but I had an awesome time.

Quick Note: Angus was born in Glasgow Scotland and ranked 96th on the Rolling Stones top 100 guitarists of all time.
